I would like to obtain certifications furthering my knowledge and skills in topics of trauma informed sex ed, and LGBTQ issues in school. The specific classes I have listed are offered by Rutgers Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. Upon completion of the courses Answer offers 48 credits of professional development hours and Category I Certified Health Education Specialist credit. The courses are $1800 and self-paced as long as they are completed within 30 days. I would like to obtain these certifications because it is an area where I lack knowledge and would like more insight. Also, because it is so common, and I would like to be able to know how to speak to someone who is or has experienced either issue.

Sexuality Education is essential but it poses challenges because it is a sensitive topic to discuss. Educators have to be conscious of negative sexual encounters their students may have encountered and the emotions that may arise.
